Here’s the thing: you don’t know how much International readers are prepared to pay for shipping for your book. It’s not really fair to them for you to decide whether they can buy your book or not. Maybe they think it’s worth it? I suggest you keep a note regarding the high prices, as you have, so that people know it is the postal companies charging the high prices and not that you are gouging international readers. People who buy all sorts of things from overseas regularly pay high prices to get their items shipped, and everyone knows the gas prices are going up so shipping prices are also. If there are options, maybe you could also give buyers a choice of Standard shipping, express shipping and/or shipping with or without tracking…. An overseas buyer may choose to pay less and wait for the book, as opposed to paying for express shipping. If no one from overseas buys your book, then so be it. But at least give us a chance to decide for ourselves?

Sorry Corey, it wasn’t clear that there were other issues with international shipping. You mentioned the excess costs for purchasers so that’s what I was reacting to. I won’t place an international order, as I don’t want to cause you any extra hassles. Life is complicated enough as it is! I do prefer to hold a book in my hands rather than read large documents on a computer screen, but I will read the series online. Thanks for your excellent research.
